Beware of 5 Signs of Skin Cancer Often Overlooked

The American Skin Cancer Society estimates that one in five people will develop skin cancer in their lives. In the US alone, more than 5.4 million cases of non-melanoma skin cancer are treated annually. For people who spend much of their time in the sun, this fact is worrying.

1. A new mole larger than 6 mm

2. A new mole with a strange fringe

Non-cancerous mole is symmetrical and usually smooth with clear edges. If a new mole appears asymmetrical or has a rough edge, check it out.

Another danger sign is when a new mole appears with blurred edges and fused into the skin.

3. New mole with abnormal color

The color of a mole should revolve between dark brown or brown, Berger said, or slightly pink. Every time there's a black, red, white or blue mole, that's enough reason to go to a dermatologist right away.

Another danger sign is when the color of the last dung is a mixture of light brown and dark brown - a mole should be just one color.
